Join us for an art, yoga and nature inspired weekend!

“RELEASE,” will take place in the Rocky Mountains as the aspens create a riot of color – located at Bhava Cabin, 10 minutes from Breckenridge, Colorado! We want YOU there! Come prepared to let go and rest. It will be an intimate, all-inclusive, good for the soul wellness retreat for only 8 people. This spa-like retreat will combine art, yoga, journaling, hiking and nature workshops. Our goal is to build community and connection with engaging workshops, incredible food, inspiring locations and even better company. Our retreats are an investment in YOU. We can't wait to get to know you better!

Release is all about letting go to let in. We often hold onto energies of doubt and fear on our unique journeys. Allowing these emotions to move through us creates space for things that are meant for us.

Mission:

Creative Yoga Retreats cultivate a safe, empowering and creative space in a beautiful natural setting, enabling us to open our hearts to loving awareness of ourselves, each other and our environment.

Our Pillars:

Our central pillars are yoga, art and connection -- all intertwined with nature.

The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning “to yoke,” or “to unite”. The practice aims to create union between body, mind and spirit, as well as between the individual self and universal consciousness. Yoga is love.

Art is life. Art is a pathway to exploring the human condition as innate creators. Art is an expression of nature, perceptions, emotions, questions and hardships. In a world of instant technology, we will create an inspiring space to slow down, create and notice the world around us and within us.

We need real human connection. We thrive through connection with others and with nature. Despite more opportunities to connect through technology, modern society has found itself in an epidemic of loneliness. Our retreats will create a non-judgemental space for each person to be seen, valued and heard. We use writing and storytelling to express our journeys, vulnerabilities and experiences.

Who is this for?

We are a welcoming and inclusive community. We welcome all genders, sexual orientations, race, class, ability/disability, ages and other identities and experiences. We ask all retreat participants to come with a loving and open heart.

Meet Your Retreat Leaders:

Mary Howze

is a seasoned yoga practitioner and a fresh yoga instructor. She is RYT200+ and is currently working on her 300-hour certification. Mary teaches what she loves as a practitioner and believes yoga to be a spiritual practice. Yoga has been a passion of hers for over 6 years and nothing brings her more joy than sharing it with her community.  During our Release Retreat, Mary will focus on yoga which will support our theme. She will lead a detoxifying class full of twists, an Aromatherapy based class, and a session based on surrendering. Mary has taught regular classes, led yoga on festival stages, and hosted a handful of retreats. Outside of yoga, Mary loves nature, music, and traveling.

Jessica Mahan

Jessica Mahan is a professional painter, teacher of art and yoga practitioner currently working on her 200 hour yoga instructor certification. She is in awe of the natural world. Nature has the ability to wake up her mind to the present moment, sparking ideas and insight. The resulting paintings are vivid, emotional, playful and dreamlike. Her art practice helps her slow down and notice the world around her by examining shapes, colors, movement rhythms and light. She often uses symbolism and thinks of her work as visual poetry. She previously taught art in the public school system for 7 years, has been a professional artist for 8 years and loves sharing her love of art with others. Outside of art, she loves travel, yoga, nature, music and hanging out with her dog.
At the Release Retreat, Jessica will be teaching art/writing automatism to activate the subconscious. She will also teach an aspen painting class and collaborative nature art.
